Earth Wires are used for grounding operation in the electrical distribution network The main reason for its usage is ‘safety’. In a wiring installation, the earth wire is used to create an electrical connection to the earth that provides an alternative path to the ground for heavy currents. For low resistance, the metallic parts in the electrical equipment are grounded. If a fault occurs in an electrical system, earth wires help stop electricity that might otherwise flow through the human body as electric shock Earth wires are made from stranded galvanized high carbon steel wires. They comprise ofthree to seven strands of such wires. All steel strands are smooth, uniform and free from imperfections such as die-marks, scratches, abrasion and/cents after drawing and also after standing. The material is then suitably packed before dispatch on a wooden drum as per customer’s requirement.
